Stintino, small village with its 1600 inhabitants, situated on the extreme northwestern tip of Sardinia; was foundated about the end of XIX century by 45 families, originally from Liguria, forcibly removed from Asinara, their lands were dispossessed to make way for the once penitentiary prison.

Until about 30 yeras ago, the main resources were fishing and agricolture, let’s not forget that Stintino once developed a reputation for its tuna hunt being one of the most rinomated in Sardinia and in the Mediterranean; today Stintino has become a minor beach resort, and is more famous for its tourism with its crystal clear waters along with its immense natural beauty especially popular for its quality and tranquillity which is a keyword for your holiday.

Stintino’s predominant architecture is made up of small houses using local building material (Stintino’s famous stone) and external painted with soft pastel colours, typical of southern maritime suburbs.


Let’s not forget its fantastic cuisine which goes without saying. Stintino uses its natural resources for example tuna and lobster, also octopus, squids , fish and seafood: make sure that you taste the local potatoe and lobster soup.




Treat your palate to “l’Agliata di polpo” exquisite garlic octopus (octopus, sun dried tomatoes, garlic, red chili peppers, x-tra vergin olive-oil, white vinegar wine, bay leaf) ; “Il polpo alla Stintinese” Stintino style octopus (octopus salad with potatoes, vinegar, parsley, onion).



“La bottarga di tonno” (salted dried tuna roè) a Sardinian speciality used to season our tasty “linguine” (flat long pasta) or fantastic starters. And more never ending seafood, shell fish ,sea urchin and shellfish...
